New Harmony 5-degree angle fitting & endpin This set includes a composite fitting, or cone, and a solid carbon fiber rod. The rod is 20" long and 10mm in diameter so it is very stable when extended. The hold in the fitting is bored at a 5-degree angle, so your cello will sit slightly more horizontal. Cellists who have tried instruments with this setup find it very comfortable. The diameter on the composite fitting is 27.5mm. The tip on this endpin is extremely sharp hardened steel, is sold with a plastic-lined rubber tip. Posture Peg Posture Pegs afford freedom of movement by eliminating the protruding peg heads. Tuning is accomplished by means of a removable key with grip. The peg is blackwood, tapering from 14mm at the collar to 12.5 mm at the small end, 6.3 cm in length. Set of 2 pegs. $125.00

Perfection Planetary Pegs Perfection Planetary Pegs look like conventional cello pegs but have a gear mechanism to prevent slipping or sticking. We have in stock pegs designed for 1/2 and 3/4 cellos with a 12mm shank. Pegs for 4/4 cellos can be ordered in diameters from 12 to 15mm. Installation should be done by a luthier. Two are right-hand thread, two left-hand thread, and must be placed on the proper side -- see included instructions. If your pegs are different than the diameter shank of the Planetary peg, the holes will be need to be reamed out or bushed. Length is uniform and will need to be cut for your instrument. Installation is not permanent; pegs can be removed and replaced with regular pegs of equivalent diameter. These are great for cellists with arthritis, young students -- or anyone who has trouble tuning with conventional pegs due to seasonal changes from hot humid summers to cold dry winters. $150.00

Pegheds Ebony 12mm diameter Pegheds in fine ebony with integrated gear mechanism so tuning at the peg is effortless. They look like traditional friction pegs. Installation should be done by a luthier as pegs will need to be cut to length, edges polished. Holes in pegbox may need to be resized slightly for proper fit. Wittner Fine Tuners Wittner string adjusters, also called fine tuners, can be purchased individually and installed on most wood tailpieces. These are black metal and allow for microadjustments in tuning after you have gotten near the pitch by tuning at the peg. To install, just remove the screw, place the metal bracket so the screw sleeve protrudes from the back of "keyhole" of the tailpiece and comes out the front. The top with the prongs should be above the top of the tailpiece. Thread the screw back into the sleeve. Place the ball end of the string between the prongs. $9.50

Bridge Jack (Herdim) Herdim Bridge Jack (a/k/a String Lifter) is used when replacing one bridge with another. Screw mechanism jacks up the bridge higher than the one you need to replace so you can easily remove it and install a new one. $50.00

Aubert Adjustable Bridge Adjustable bridges from Aubert provide a quick fix when you have a problem and cannot get to a luthier easily to get a proper bridge cut and fit for your instrument. Unlike other bridges, adjustables do not come in a variety of widths, only height. So while you will get your cello playable again, it is unlikely you can get optimum sound.
