Mute Model: 1-hole Tourte mute The Tourte 1-hole rubber mute can stay on the instrument at all times. You can quickly slide it on and off the bridge as needed. Some people prefer the 1-hole mute as it leaves more room for a wolf eliminator. It may tend to slide farther down the afterlength of the string than the 2-hole mute. This is not a practice mute, but is used when playing music noted "con sordino." $4.25

Mute Model: Ultra Rubber Practice Mute The rubber mute is the most forgiving and therefore the most universal in terms of fit on thick or thin bridges. Weight approximately 66 grams. Fits 4/4 and 7/8 cellos, but depending on bridge diameter and string spacing, will likely not fit smaller cellos. $7.50

stand Model: Highlighter Tape for Music Removable Highlighter Tape comes in a package of 3 colors: pink, yellow and green with its own dispenser. These tiny rolls of transparent colored tape can be placed on music to highlight repeat signs or anything you need to stand out. It can be written on, so if you have borrowed music and need to write in fingerings they can be done on the tape and then peeled off when you turn in the music. We have used this product ourselves and it works well. Tape is 12mm wide, dispenser is about 1.5" by 1" with cutting edge, $7.95

If you have a wire folding stand, you will need this type unless you have an orchestral folder. METAL: This style has a tighter-fitting clip and no backing to the acrylic piece. Tailpiece Model: Harmonie Kevlar Tail Cord Les Bois d'Harmonie flexible braided cord increases mobility of tailpiece closer to the bridge so as not to diminish the natural resonance of the cello. Tailpiece Model: Wittner Fine Tuners Wittner string adjusters, also called fine tuners, can be purchased individually and installed on most wood tailpieces. These are black metal and allow for microadjustments in tuning after you have gotten near the pitch by tuning at the peg. To install, just remove the screw, place the metal bracket so the screw sleeve protrudes from the back of "keyhole" of the tailpiece and comes out the front. The top with the prongs should be above the top of the tailpiece. Thread the screw back into the sleeve. Place the ball end of the string between the prongs. $12.00

Rockstop Model: Pinstop Made of recycled plastic, this black rockstop has an adhesive back so it stays put on most surfaces. Just wash the back as necessary to renew the sticky surface. About the size of a credit card, 1/4 inch thick so it slips in your pocket easily -- with the protector strip over the adhesive. $13.00

Rosin Model: Cellisto "Cellisto" rosin by Pirastro $14.00

Accessory Model: Cello Dampit Dampits can be an effective and safe means to humidify your cello if used properly. It consists of a perforated piece of rubber tubing housing a sponge core. When this is moistened, BUT NOT DRIPPING, it is inserted into the cello's F-hole where the moisture can slowly evaporate, releasing moisture for your cello. There is a wide rubber ring which prevents the Dampit from falling inside the cello. Check regularly, as cold winter air and heating systems will quickly dry out the Dampit, and then your cello. Water damage inside your cello can result if you don't adequately remove excess water. Dampits do not have to be removed from your cello when playing. $14.00

Rockstop Model: Xeros The familiar metal endpin holder has been replaced with a lighter ABS model. The rubber-backed endpin cup is attached to an adjustable webbed strap with a 2" ring on the other end. Place the chair leg through the ring to hold in place. $15.00

Mute Model: Artino Practice Mute This hybrid mute weighs 110g and while more forgiving than metal practice mutes, it still won't fit all 4/4 cello bridges as the photos indicate. We offer trials and returns on items like this. $15.00

Wolf Suppressors Model: New Harmony Wolf Suppressors No more screws, and no rubber liner! There are six sizes to choose from to deal with the wolf without damping sound. 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 gram weights are available for cello, $16 each. Because there is no direct correlation between a wolf note and suppressor weight, we recommend you ask about our trial period so you can find out which works for your cello. $16.00

Rockstop Model: Vivacello Vivacello is a small plastic rockstop with 3 round rubber feet for grip and stability, whether used on smooth surface floors or carpets. Some people prefer the three points of contact with the floor instead of one round disk. The brass cup in the center is too small to accommodate large rubber caps (like New Harmony) but will fit smaller ones, or bare tips. Colors: purple, green, blue, red, black $16.00

Rockstop Model: Artino SP20 Endpin Holder Artino's rosewood endpin holder consists of an adjustable webbed strap with a rosewood cello floor on one end, and a 2-hole wood piece for the chair leg on the other. The cello floor has 5 dimples which will accommodate a bare endpin tip. If you have a New Harmony endpin tip, you can stick your endpin anywhere in the wood for quick micro-adjustments. The 2 holes on the other end allow for quick length adjustments by lifting the chair leg and placing it in the alternate hole. This is a good choice for cellists who prefer the endpin resting on wood rather than carpet, brass cups or plastic rockstops. $17.50

Mute Model: 2-prong metal practice mute This two-prong chrome mute is a suitable option for 3/4 cello bridges as well as 4/4, as long as the bridge is cut thin enough (4mm maximum thickness measuring 5mm from the edge of the bridge). It keeps your cello humidified by slow release of (preferably distilled) water from a cylinder with a fabric center, leak-proof screw top. Extremely strong magnets are built into the Oasis so you can easily attach it to an adhesive-backed metal strip which mounts in your cello case. As moisture leaves the tube no air can get in. The vacuum created collapses the tube so you can easily see when it needs refilling. A plastic syringe is provided for refill. Rockstop Model: Black Hole Tacky-back rubber rockstop with concave surface sticks to most but not all (clean) floor surfaces. Plastic endpin cup will accommodate bare tips, but some rubber endpin caps will be too large to fit in the cup. Even the extremely sharp tip of the New Harmony endpin will not pierce the liner. $20.00

Wolf Suppressors Model: Lup.X The Lup.X is a small metal two-piece button that weighs 8.5g. Simple unscrew the suppressor, fit it around the string and screw back together. The string fits in the channel so the suppressor stay where you put it. This unit is not pitch-specific, works on some cellos and not others. You may wish to try a Lup.X in conjuction with other wolf suppressors we can send on evaluation. $20.00

Endpin Model: New Harmony 8mm carbon fiber endpin New Harmony's 8mm carbon fiber endpin is 20" long, and a one-for-one replacement for most solid metal endpins. If you don't have calipers to measure diameter of your existing endpin, you can measure around the circumference of the rod. If it's 1", it's 8mm in diameter. The tip is heat-hardened steel that can be sharpened, though it maintains its original point for a long time. Sold with plastic-lined rubber cap which can be ordered separately ($3.00) should you need a replacement. Players who extend the rod 12" or beyond report some flex in the rod compared to metal, but most get accustomed to it. Some opt instead for the stability of the 10mm CF rod. $50.00

Bridge Model: Aubert Adjustable Bridge Adjustable bridges from Aubert provide a quick fix when you have a problem and cannot get to a luthier easily to get a proper bridge cut and fit for your instrument. Unlike other bridges, adjustables do not come in a variety of widths, only height. So while you will get your cello playable again, it is unlikely you can get optimum sound. Wolf Suppressors Model: Internal Resonator A small lead piece is connected to a thin wood plate with two springs. It may be placed outside the cello temporarily using the blue putty (provided) which will not harm the cello's finish. When permanent installation is required, it should be done using a titanium clamp with height-adjustable swivel pads. Resonators come in three frequency ranges: Low D-E, Medium Eb-F, High E-F#. Peg Model: Perfection Planetary Pegs Perfection Planetary Pegs look like conventional cello pegs but have a gear mechanism to prevent slipping or sticking. We have 12mm pegs for 1/2 and 3/4 size cellos. We have 12 and 13mm pegs for 4/4 cellos. Installation should be done by a luthier. Pegs are right- and left-hand thread, and must be placed on the proper A-D or G-C side -- see included instructions. If your pegs are different than the diameter of the Planetary peg, the holes will be need to be reamed out or bushed. Installation is not permanent; pegs can be removed and replaced with regular pegs of equivalent diameter. These are great for cellists with arthritis, young students -- or anyone who has trouble tuning with conventional pegs due to seasonal changes from hot humid summers to cold dry winters. $125.00

Endpin Model: New Harmony 5-degree angle fitting & endpin This set includes a composite fitting, or cone, and a solid carbon fiber rod. The rod is 20" long and 10mm in diameter so it is very stable when extended. The hold in the fitting is bored at a 5-degree angle, so your cello will sit slightly more horizontal. Cellists who have tried instruments with this setup find it very comfortable. The diameter on the composite fitting is 27mm. The tip on this endpin is extremely sharp hardened steel, is sold with a plastic-lined rubber tip. $135.00
