Desk-top stand Model: Desktop Music Stand This desktop stand folds flat for easy transport and can be handy when traveling. Sets up on any level flat surface. These tiny rolls of transparent colored tape can be placed on music to highlight repeat signs or anything you need to stand out. It can be written on, so if you have borrowed music and need to write in fingerings they can be done on the tape and then peeled off when you turn in the music. Tailpiece Model: Wittner Fine Tuners Wittner string adjusters, also called fine tuners, can be purchased individually and installed on most wood tailpieces. These are black metal and allow for microadjustments in tuning after you have gotten near the pitch by tuning at the peg. To install, just remove the screw, place the metal bracket so the screw sleeve protrudes from the back of "keyhole" of the tailpiece and comes out the front. The top with the prongs should be above the top of the tailpiece. Thread the screw back into the sleeve. Place the ball end of the string between the prongs. $9.50

Seat Cushion Model: Stringvision Bow Grip V.2 Stringvision's Bow Grip V2 helps the hand get more comfortable on the bow and protects the stick and frog from wear. This is a revised model, made of a stronger, more pliable tear-resistant material. The bow grip's thumb indent aids thumb placement and may help some students develop a better bow grip. We show a clear model on a 4/4 Coda Diamond NX cello bow but the grip is only available currently in black. Thumb indentation falls right where the thumb would be placed on the bare bow/frog. Humidifier Model: Cello Dampit Dampits can be an effective and safe means to humidify your cello if used properly. It consists of a perforated piece of rubber tubing housing a sponge core. When this is moistened, BUT NOT DRIPPING, it is inserted into the cello's F-hole where the moisture can slowly evaporate, releasing moisture for your cello. There is a wide rubber ring which prevents the Dampit from falling inside the cello. Check regularly, as cold winter air and heating systems will quickly dry out the Dampit, and then your cello. Water damage inside your cello can result if you don't adequately remove excess water. Dampits do not have to be removed from your cello when playing. $11.00

Humidifier Model: Planet Waves Humidifier Planet Waves LC (large case) humidifier is installed in your cello case with adhesive-backed velcro. The plastic case houses a foam packet which slow-releases moisture into your cello case, maintaining humidity around your instrument. The plastic syringe should be filled with water, and injected into the hole until the internal foam is fully moistened. No special replacement foam is required, but use of distilled water is recommended. Refill time will depend on climate conditions, but average is 1-2weeks. Humidifier Model: Oasis Case Humidifier Oasis keeps your cello humidified by slow release of (preferably distilled) water from a cylinder with a fabric center, leak-proof screw top. Mute Model: 2-prong metal practice mute This two-prong chrome mute is a suitable option for 3/4 cello bridges as well as 4/4, as long as the bridge is cut thin enough (4mm maximum thickness measuring 5mm from the edge of the bridge). Otherwise it will not fit snugly enough and could fall off. Weight ~ 96 grams. $18.00

Rosin Model: Melos Melos rosin from Greece, specify light or dark. The maker recommends the Light for hot weather and Dark for cold weather. They also recommend the Dark for full-tone orchestral playing; Light for chamber music. $18.45

Rockstop Model: Round Resonance Rockstop This hollow disk is made of rosewood and measures 3.5 inches in diameter, 1 inch high. The bottom has a textured rubber ring for grip so it can be removed from the web strap entirely if you wish. The top has a dimple for your endpin -- a bare tip will fit better than one with a rubber cap on. The adjustable web strap is long enough to loop through sled-based chairs, and even fit around both legs of most chairs for those who want to feel they're more centered. Tuner Model: Sabine Zoid Clip-On Tuner The Zoid is a small tuner that can either be clipped on a peg or bridge or used with a built-in mic. You can pivot the head for easy viewing of the screen. The screen will light in orange when the pitch is inaccurate, and the needle on the meter will indicate whether it is flat or sharp. The screen lights in green when you're at pitch. Granted there are fluctuations in intonation with bow pressure and speed. Orchestral players who can't hear themselves will benefit from the Zoid, as will new students who have not developed a strong sense of pitch and have tuning issues. Tailpiece Model: Aubert Adjustable Bridge Adjustable bridges from Aubert provide a quick fix when you have a problem and cannot get to a luthier easily to get a proper bridge cut and fit for your instrument. Unlike other bridges, adjustables do not come in a variety of widths, only height. So while you will get your cello playable again, it is unlikely you can get optimum sound. Endpin Model: New Harmony 5-degree angle fitting & endpin This set includes a composite fitting, or cone, and a solid carbon fiber rod. The rod is 20" long and 10mm in diameter so it is very stable when extended. The hold in the fitting is bored at a 5-degree angle, so your cello will sit slightly more horizontal. Cellists who have tried instruments with this setup find it very comfortable. The diameter on the composite fitting is 27.5mm. The tip on this endpin is extremely sharp hardened steel, is sold with a plastic-lined rubber tip. Replacement tips can be purchased separately. $135.00

Peg Model: Perfection Planetary Pegs Perfection Planetary Pegs look like conventional cello pegs but have a gear mechanism to prevent slipping or sticking. We have in stock pegs designed for 1/2 and 3/4 cellos with a 12mm shank. Pegs for 4/4 cellos can be ordered in diameters from 12 to 15mm. Installation should be done by a luthier. Two are right-hand thread, two left-hand thread, and must be placed on the proper side -- see included instructions. If your pegs are different than the diameter shank of the Planetary peg, the holes will be need to be reamed out or bushed. Length is uniform and will need to be cut for your instrument. Installation is not permanent; pegs can be removed and replaced with regular pegs of equivalent diameter. These are great for cellists with arthritis, young students -- or anyone who has trouble tuning with conventional pegs due to seasonal changes from hot humid summers to cold dry winters. $150.00

Teak Music Stand Model: Solid Teak Music Stand This solid teak music stand is beautifully crafted and surprisingly portable. The desk and three legs separate from the center poles and store in compartments in a special travel case. The telescoping pole adjusts from 29" off the floor to 49" and the angle of the desk is easily changed by inserting the pole into one of three holes in the back.
