Cases

SOFT HARD FLIGHT
While the primary considerations in selecting a cello case are usually protection of your instrument and price, they are not the only considerations. The weight of the case, your own physical size, placement of handles all make a difference in how comfortable a case is for you to transport. Even if your cello never leaves the house, you want hinges that don't sag, latches that line up and operate easily.

Like cellos and bows, cases come in a range of prices depending on materials and workmanship. Plywood cases are very protective but heavy. ABS plastic and fiberglass shells mean less weight, but heftier price tags. If you and your cello are frequently on the go, these high-tech cases are well worth the price. Maneuvering your cello in and out of the car, up and down stairs is something you should consider. Wheels are an asset on a flat surface, but the added weight is a liability when lifting. Just some things to keep in mind if this is your first case purchase. Your own needs will determine which case is best, and Cellos2Go makes sure you get value for the price.
