Trio in C, Op. 87 (3 cellos)
Arranged for three cellos. Originally composed for two oboes and English horn, this piece falls awkwardly on the cello. Cello I is entirely in tenor clef and requires thumb position; Cello II is in bass clef moving briefly above 4th position for a B; Cello III barely moves out of first position to an occasional E. There are many octave jumps in the lower positions, many ungainly passages. These will not be enjoyable for someone still learning their basics on the instrument.

This booklet contains two pieces. Abide With Me is arranged for cello trio. All parts stay in bass clef. Cello 1 goes into 2nd position. Cello 2&3 can be played in first, but will benefit from knowledge of 2nd position as well.
Be Thou My Vision is arranged for cello quartet. Cello 1 is in tenor clef, but does not require thumb position. Cello 2 & 3 should be fluent through 4th position. Cello 4 stays in 1st position.
