Posture Pegs
Posture Pegs afford freedom of movement by eliminating the protruding peg heads. Tuning is accomplished by means of a removable key with grip. The peg shank is a blackwood blank, tapering from 14mm at the collar to 12.5 mm at the small end, 6.3 cm in length. It must be shaped and fit by a luthier to the existing peg hole. Set of 2 pegs includes two shanks and two keys. *The steel sleeve is 2 cm long, so if you want to use these pegs in a fractional cello, make sure the peg diameter is thick enough so as not to interfere.

Pegheds
Pegheds -- geared pegs made of fine wood -- are the brainchild of Chuck Herin. Replace your finicky friction pegs with smooth-operating Pegheds that don't stick or slip. Requiring only your thumb and index finger to turn, you can tune to the precise pitch while bowing. When you release, they hold. Measure your current pegs/holes to order proper size. If your current pegs are smaller than 12mm, order 12mm and ream the new hole to fit the Pegheds. If your holes are 12.1mm to 13, order the 13mm. Pricing may vary by wood type and style so contact us for details. Shown is a mix of ebony and boxwood. Installation must be done by a qualified luthier in order for the warranty to be in effect.
** In stock: 1 set of 13mm boxwood Pegheds, 1 set of 13mm Rosewood Pegheds

8 mm Solid Carbon Fiber Endpin NHM
New Harmony's 8mm carbon fiber endpin is 20" long, weighs ~ 42 grams with a rubber cap that weighs 6 grams. It is a one-for-one replacement for most solid metal endpins. If you don't have calipers to measure diameter of your existing endpin, measure around the circumference of the rod. If it's 1", the diameter is 8mm. The tip is heat-hardened steel that can be sharpened, though it maintains its original point for a long time. Some players report some flex compared to solid metal rods, but this varies with player movement (emoting) as well as how close you are to full extension. *Steel carbide may not be in stock

Stahlhammer replacement tightener
** Read to the end - new update. If you have overtightened the telescoping rod so it no longer holds, you have split the interior tightening mechanism. This is a nylon sleeve and is replaceable. Unscrew the extension rod and remove, take the tightening lock off, and gently screw the new one on. Do not overtighten when you adjust your endpin next time. Just enough to hold. ***If you read the instructions inside the box, specifically No. 8, it suggests you routinely remove the inner tube and apply a few drops of alcohol to the nylon sleeve. Apparently nylon off-gases, and produces a film which may act as a lubricant. So even if you have not put oil in the mechanism, you still need to clean this part. According to Semmy Stahlhammer, the nylon piece is strong and should not need to be replaced IF PROPERLY MAINTAINED.

Self-Adjusting Bridge - Aubert
Adjustable bridges are not ideal for setting up a cello, but they can be a lifesaver in an emergency when there is no luthier or repair person close by. These bridges are available in 4/4 and fractional sizes, but not a range of diameters. They have pivoting feet since cello tops vary in curvature. That means you will be able to set your cello up, but it is not likely the bridge will be optimal in relation to your sound post and bass bar. They are available in low, medium and high so you can try to get a suitable height for playing. Handy to have available at summer music camps or if you travel.
