German, no label, c 1800

Cello came from a historical collection in Washington, DC and we hope to learn more about it.  While the cello has been upgraded with PegHeds, the endpin fitting is for a wooden peg with metal rod and thumb screw.  Sweet sound from this c. 1800 cello, maker unknown.  The owner has opted not to do updates as they enjoyed it as-is, but we can help a new owner with a number of changes from strings to tailpiece and enpin as they may wish.
