The Klaus Bender endpin fitting features a twist-to-tighten mechanism which eliminates the traditional thumb screw.   Where wood fittings can swell and shrink with seasonal changes, the aluminum (like composites) are unaffected by weather changes.  Currently we do not stock these but have special ordered them.  The hole accommodates a 10mm endpin, and the fitting itself is available in four diameters:   23.5 mm, 25 mm, 26.5 mm and 28 mm.   Check the size of your cello’s hole so you know which you need.  Bender also offers four different endpin shafts but so far cellists have just been interested in the fitting itself.      **Note on collet nuts.  The plug comes with an aluminum nut, but if you want greater mass and resonance, you may purchase a separate brass or bronze collet nut (~ 85 grams).  Call for availability and pricing which is subject to change as we special order.

    TekPin’s unique vertical angle endpin is offered in multiple models.  The Conservatory nodel features a black plastic fitting instead of wood.  The $500 model version has a stainless housing with stainless  rod.  The $550 model has a stainless housing with a harder carbide rod, beneficial if you are playing on concrete surfaces.     The vertical enpin allows for more freedom of movement — front to back as well as side to side — eliminating tension in your back.  More information is available at the maker’s website  https://tekpinusa.com

    8 mm Solid Carbon Fiber Endpin NHM

    New Harmony’s 8mm carbon fiber endpin is 20″ long, weighs ~ 42 grams with a rubber cap that weighs 6 grams.  It is a one-for-one replacement for most solid metal endpins.  If you don’t have calipers to measure diameter of your existing endpin, measure around the circumference of the rod.  If it’s 1″, the diameter is 8mm.    The tip is heat-hardened steel that can be sharpened, though it maintains its original point for a long time.  Some players report some flex compared to solid metal rods, but this varies with player movement (emoting) as well as how close you are to full extension.  *Add $10 for the model with a steel carbide tip

    Wittner composite tailpiece has integrated fine tuners and comes with a tail cord. Changing strings is easy because the parts you need to thread are on the front of the tailpiece.  An excellent replacement for old ebony tailpieces with bulky add-on fine tuners.  Tailpiece for 7/8 and 4/4 size cellos is 235 mm in length.  Fractional sizes can be ordered.
