Cello Macabre: Halloween Music for 2 Cellos
In the Hall of the Mountain King, Funeral of the Marionettes, Funeral March, Danse Macabre, The Erlking. Arranged by Erinn Renyer and Ed Laut.
Dotzauer Three Easy Duos Op. 114 (2 cellos)
#3780 Edited by Jeffrey Solow. Each part is in its own book. Don’t confuse “easy” with “for beginners.” Range stays within bass clef, 4th position, but includes more complex rhythms, lots of double stops that are not against open strings, sections in 3 sharps and flats. No idea why this volume is so expensive, but it does include a lot of music! I find this to be fun and practical sight-reading material as the range of notes is comfortable, but the intervals and rhythms really show you where your geography shortcomings lie.
Mendelssohn Songs Vol. 2 (4 cellos)
Arranged by Heidi Schultz, edited by Lynne Latham. Cellos I and II need to be comfortable through 4th position, III and IV less so. Includes score with parts.
Das Lied vom Braven Mann
Ersatz fur Unbestand
Beethoven Trio in C, Op. 87 (3 cellos)
[IMC #2227] Originally composed for two oboes and English horn. Cello I is entirely in tenor clef and requires thumb position; Cello II is in bass clef moving briefly above 4th position for a B; Cello III barely moves out of first position to an occasional E. There are many octave jumps in the lower positions, many ungainly passages.
Lalo Concerto in D minor 2 cellos
#3741 For solo cello with 2nd cello part by Daniel Morganstern instead of the usual piano reduction. Also includes commentary and preparatory exercises.
