This is a single book with both parts in score form. All duets are written in bass clef, do not require positions above fourth, and are popular with cellists with similar skill sets. A variety of accessible keys and time signatures within your comfortable note range.
Duets are graded in four volumes, both parts of equal difficulty. Volume IV is for players moving into 5th position; music is still in bass clef. We usually stock this book for Two Violins and Two Violas which matches the cello book, so you can play duets with upper strings, but either can play the top or bottom part. A piano accompaniment book for this volume is also available for purchase.
[IMC #2227] Originally composed for two oboes and English horn. Cello I is entirely in tenor clef and requires thumb position; Cello II is in bass clef moving briefly above 4th position for a B; Cello III barely moves out of first position to an occasional E. There are many octave jumps in the lower positions, many ungainly passages.
Challenging pieces. Cello I and II treble clef. Cello III bass clef but with lots of rhythmic and bowing issues, double stops. Edited by Stutch.
