Inspired by Robert Frost poem “Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening,” (there’s a longer story) music is by Eric Whitacre, arranged for 8 cellos by Jeffrey Zeigler. Includes parts with score.
IMC #3705 is the 15 Easy preparatory studies to Op. 76 and 73. Originally arranged by G. Woerl (who included cello II ad lib for Nos. 1-10), Enyeart wrote Cello II parts for the remaining five. The only other change we note is the inclusion of measure numbers.
These pieces can be played whether you are 2 cellos, 3 cellos or 4 cellos. Cello 1 requires knowledge of tenor clef and thumb position. Cello II is the most challenging as it has more shifting in neck positions. Cellos III and IV may be played by less experienced players. Contents: Fall Recollections at Dressing Table, Whether He Knows or Not, Little Cabbage, General’s Command, Jiaocheng Mountain, Elunchun Folk Tune.
