Arrangements were published by Simrock in 1896 while Brahms was alive, so it may be presumed that he knew of and accepted them. They passed from Rostropovich to Geringas, who arranged this edition.

in d minor. Arranged by Laszlo Varga for cello. You will need piano part from the violin sonata for performance. The cello line is an octave lower, and the only modifications are a few unplayable chords and octave doublings.
