This is not a Casals edition, but rather one edited by students and disciplies of Casals. Marie Roemaet Rosanoff and Lieff Rosanoff feel they offer a representation of Casals’ teachings, and his tradition of performance as they remained in personal and artistic contact with Casals. Suite 5 does not use the original tuning (scordatura) but normal tuning.
For solo cello, theme with five variations and coda. Theme stays within first position note range, with fingered double stops. Two variations include a 4th position G, three variations include double stops. It’s manageable with room to grow!
