This edition replaces and completes Divertimento for cello solo. The movements have been arranged in a new order. Boris Pergamenshikov has added fingerings and bowings to four of the movements.
For advanced players, these arrangements incorporate double stops, chords and ornamentation to embellish the solo line with its own accompaniment. This is not a Casals edition, but rather one edited by students and disciplies of Casals. Marie Roemaet Rosanoff and Lieff Rosanoff feel they offer a representation of Casals’ teachings, and his tradition of performance as they remained in personal and artistic contact with Casals. Suite 5 does not use the original tuning (scordatura) but normal tuning.
