Currently one MINT  case is in stock at the price of $1600.   The New  Tech is an extremely strong case made with a 3-ply ABS  shell and injected foam which provides both shock and some thermal protection.  Broad, thick dense suspension pads support the neck and bottom blocks — the strongest structural parts of the cello — for superior protection from vibration when wheeling this case.   The wheeling handle is integrated into the back of the scroll compartment.   Be aware cellos vary in contour and proportions, so we always confirm dimensions before shipping.  An in-shop visit is the best way to evaluate any case.   Shoulder straps are included, with comfy neoprene with secure carabiners.  All case specs are shown in in the photo gallery.

    Bam Classic with wheels

    Bam’s Classic is their most affordable case, having a 1-ply ABS shell compared to their higher-end models with multi-ply shells.   The interior dense, broad padding suspends the cello under its strongest structural  parts: the neck and bottom blocks.  Cellists concerned about wheeling their case will appreciate the material of the wheels and their spacing, as well as the protection the suspension pads provide from vibration and impact.  The Classic features an internal music pocket, but common sense dictates what will fit without interfering with the back of your instrument.  The hardware, carabiners and shoulder straps are top quality, and comfortable whether wearing a tank top or coat.  This case has a generous interior and comfortably fits this cello with back length 30″, upper bouts 14 3/8″, lower bouts 17 5/8″,  Total length from top of scroll to bottom edge 48 1/2″ plus  2 1/4″ for the endpin well.   Weight 13 pounds.

    Gewa Air

    Gewa Air

    While Gewa Air fits many 4/4 cellos, it has adjustable features that make it ideal for short-pattern cellos like Guadagnini or 7/8ths cellos.  The shell is constructed of two strong thermoplastic layers with injected foam bonded to interior suspension lining.  This design makes it tortionally strong, more puncture resistant, and affords thermal protection.  The interior features an adjustable sling to customize fit. It also may fit some extra-long cellos because of the flexible configuration of pads in the shoulder/neck region. Guideline dimensions are 14.5″ UB, 18″ LB, total length 51.5″ but fit requires more details so contact us. Five latches, one with an integrated combination lock. Leather handles.     Fiedler bow holder with tip pocket

    Fiedler makes a bow holder with a magnetic closure, sticky-back foam block, bow tip pocket, and mounting screws (though users we talked to just used hot glue).   If you wish to add a third bow in the lid that will parallel the fingerboard, this should have the space you need.   Keeping in mind case makers do not all use the same materials nor have the same dimensions or shell thicknesses, results may vary.  If you are unhappy with your current velcro/snap/zip holders, you can replace them with the Fiedler.

    Bam Ergonomic Backpack

    Bam’s Ergo Backpack is a European hiking pack for maximum comfort when trekking with case. Weight 2.4 pounds, attaches with D ring at top, two Velcro straps to D rings at lower bouts. A cushioned zippered music pocked rests between your back and the case shell. Pad is 12″ at widest part, 22″ long. We put in a 10×11.5″ binder 1″ thick and it fit. Oversize orchestral parts fit.  There’s a small utility pouch on the waist belt.  Be aware this makes the case back-heavy when standing empty, and also prevents it from laying flat, if that matters to you.  It tends to be less comfortable for petite cellists, not just height but narrow frame and shoulders.
