Bam Shamrock wheels
$1,569.00
This model adds wheels and a pulling handle onto the standard Shamrock, so be sure to look at that listing for more details and dimensions. Color options and all features are the same. The popularity of this case — if your cello fits — is its weight 9 lbs 8 oz WITH WHEELS! Again, the density and size of the suspension pads afford protection from vibration when wheeling on most surfaces. If your arm is bouncing all over the place as you walk, either slow down, get a smoother surface, or put the case on your back. Common sense rules.

Vivo Hybrid case with wheels
Hybrid cello case with wheels weighs 10.2 pounds; shoulder straps add .8 lb. Shell is textured, and is shown in Silver and Champagne. There are 7 overcam latches, none lock. Neck strap is velcro, scroll loop has an adustable clasp, and bow holders have zip closures. An accessory pocket is in the lid opposite the scroll. The upper suspension pad supports the neck block, and is on a velcro track so if your cello is long or short, you can adjust the pad. The lower pads are fixed, suspend under the bottom block, and curve up the lower sides so there are no additional pads required. Pictured is a 7/8ths cello with dimensions provided, and you can see the fit is fine with no C peg issue. The largest cello we fit had Back length 763, UB 365 and LB 460 but the widest part is toward the bottom of the cello, so curvature matters. Two shoulder straps attach to 2 D-rings on the upper back, connecting to D ring at the each lower bout.

Gewa Air
While Gewa Air fits many 4/4 cellos, it has adjustable features that make it ideal for short-pattern cellos like Guadagnini or 7/8ths cellos. The shell is constructed of two strong thermoplastic layers with injected foam bonded to interior suspension lining. This design makes it tortionally strong, more puncture resistant, and affords thermal protection. The interior features an adjustable sling to customize fit. It also may fit some extra-long cellos because of the flexible configuration of pads in the shoulder/neck region. Guideline dimensions are 14.5″ UB, 18″ LB, total length 51.5″ but fit requires more details so contact us. Five latches, one with an integrated combination lock. Leather handles. Weight ~9 lbs Backpack with music pocket (rucksack) is available for this case. In stock: BROWN/black . No others are available until the next shipment (July?), and the new price will be $1400,

Gewa Pure
Gewa Pure weighs ~ 10 pounds. It has a rigid polycarb shell, 6 spring-loaded latches and 1 combination lock latch. It has a side handle, shoulder handle, and two shoulder straps. Neck strap fastens with clasp, and there is no scroll loop. The two bow holders have magnetic closures. The interior is generous and there are 8 pads that can be placed along a velcro track (or removed) to achieve a custom fit. Works well for 7/8ths cellos as well as 4/4. Lay your cello in the case with all non-fixed pads removed so you can check corners and clearances. Add pads where needed to prevent lateral and vertical movement. See pics of our “case studies.” Know your total length, back length, upper and lower bouts for starters. Colors: Black, Gray, Red, White. None are in stock until probably July. Delivery issues.

Gewa Pure with Wheels
Please read the entry for Gewa Pure polycarbonate case to see more images and details. The only differences between the two cases are addition of wheels and a wheeling handle making it slightly heavier at ~ 10.5 lbs. Interior features, construct and shell are identical to the case without wheels. If you have a short-pattern or 7/8ths cello, or a cello with shoulders that don’t fit well in fixed suspension padding, contact me to discuss your cello in this case. These pads are more adjustable than you might expect. None in stock until probably July. Delivery issues.
