Designed specifically for the Gewa Air case with two D-rings at the neck and two at the lower bouts.  The music pocket is padded, breathable material.  Straps are padded and adjustable.  System easily detaches.   Look at our gallery photo to compare the D-ring placement on the Air and the Pure case, in case you wonder if you can use this on either case.

    While Gewa Air fits many 4/4 cellos, it has adjustable features that make it ideal for short-pattern cellos like Guadagnini or 7/8ths cellos.  The shell is constructed of two strong thermoplastic layers with injected foam bonded to interior suspension lining.  This design makes it tortionally strong, more puncture resistant, and affords thermal protection.  The interior features an adjustable sling to customize fit. It also may fit some extra-long cellos because of the flexible configuration of pads in the shoulder/neck region. Guideline dimensions are 14.5″ UB, 18″ LB, total length 51.5″ but fit requires more details so contact us. Five latches, one with an integrated combination lock. Leather handles. Weight ~9 lbs    Backpack with music pocket (rucksack) is available for this case.   None in stock as of 12/23/24 but we are awaiting a very overdue shipment.  Pricing may be impacted.

  • Vivo Carbon Fiber case

    A new carbon fiber case from Vivo weighs 6.6 pounds. There are 7 latches, none locking.  The interior provides a broad pad at the top of the back, which runs on a Velcro track.  This allows a custom fit to your cello’s length.  The bottom suspension pad curves up the sides of the lower bouts, keeping it from shifting laterally.  The interior is generous and fits a Dimbath Ruggieri cello.  This model may not accommodate the 7/8 and 4/4 Guadagnini unless you add booster padding at the bottom.   We tried  models of both, and the body length coupled with the distance from the top rib to the C peg was too short for C peg clearance.  The Vivo Hybrid modes fits those cellos, just not their Carbon model.  Comfortable handles are placed at the side and shoulder, and two shoulder straps are included.  D-rings positioned closer to the neck of the case, and a single D-ring a few inches lower on the back give you options for strap attachment.  That means whether you are short or tall, you should be able to get the case to ride comfortably on your back.   No wheels on this model.

  • Bam High Tech Slim

    Bam HighTech Slim is sculpted closely to the contours of the cello, providing a compact ultralight cello case.  Protection is excellent with a thermal and shock-resistant Airex core beneath its strong ABS shell.  Weight is 8 lbs 6 oz. Dense, broad foam cushions suspend the cello at its bottom and neck blocks. The buffer zone between cello and outside world is reduced, so take your specific usage into consideration before buying. Standard 2 bow holders, a string pocket, shoulder straps, etc. The neck and scroll strap fasten with a clasp. UB 14.25″, LB 17.5″ It is also advised to check the cello laying down to see whether the neck/scroll angle is too extreme to fit without resting on the scroll compartment.
