The “Fun Series” from Gewa adds some new colors and a different latching system on the 9.9 lb polycarb case.  The interior still features fixed pads on the case back, 4 thin and 4 thicker side pads to prevent lateral movement, and the repositionable asymmeetrical pads to better fit some shorter back cellos, or those with different shoulder contours.  This green guy is on back order till the spring 2026, but if you want this color, you can place an order now.  Magnetic bow holders, clasp at neck, scroll loop.  No wheels on this model.

    Vivo Carbon Fiber infused case

    A new carbon fiber case from Vivo weighs 6.6 pounds. There are 7 latches, none locking.  There’s a scroll loop, and the neck strap closes with a clasp.  The interior provides a broad pad at the top of the back, which runs on a Velcro track.   This allows a custom fit to your cello’s length.  The bottom suspension pad curves up the sides of the lower bouts, keeping it from shifting laterally.  The interior is generous and fits a Dimbath Ruggieri cello.  This model may not accommodate the 7/8 and 4/4 Guadagnini unless you add booster padding at the bottom.   We tried  models of both, and the body length coupled with the distance from the top rib to the C peg was too short to accommodate some C pegs.  The Vivo Hybrid modes fits those cellos, just not their Carbon model.  Comfortable handles are placed at the side and shoulder, and two shoulder straps are included.  D-rings positioned closer to the neck of the case, and a single D-ring a few inches lower on the back give you options for strap attachment.  That means whether you are short or tall, you should be able to get the case to ride comfortably on your back.   No wheels on this model.  In stock in burgundy.

    Vivo Hybrid case with wheels

    Hybrid cello case with wheels weighs 10.2 pounds; shoulder straps add .8 lb.   Shell is textured,  and is shown in Silver and Champagne.  There are 7 overcam latches, none lock.  Neck strap is velcro, scroll loop has an adustable clasp, and bow holders have zip closures. An accessory pocket is in the lid opposite the scroll.  The upper suspension pad supports the neck block, and is on a velcro track so if your cello is long or short, you can adjust the pad.  The lower pads are fixed, suspend under the bottom block, and curve up the lower sides so there are no additional pads required.  Pictured is a 7/8ths cello with dimensions provided, and you can see the fit is fine with no C peg issue.   The largest cello we fit had Back length 763, UB 365 and LB 460 but the widest part is toward the bottom of the cello, so curvature matters.  Two shoulder straps attach to 2 D-rings on the upper back, connecting to D ring at the each lower bout.   In stock:  Blue, Red, and not pictures yet Champagne and Teal Blue.  Teal is a new color, and also features a neck clasp instead of Velcro strap.

    Bam’s Classic is their most affordable case, having a 1-ply ABS shell compared to their higher-end models with multi-ply shells.   The interior dense, broad padding suspends the cello under its strongest structural  parts: the neck and bottom blocks.  Cellists concerned about wheeling their case will appreciate the material of the wheels and their spacing, as well as the protection the suspension pads provide from vibration and impact.  The Classic features an internal music pocket, but common sense dictates what will fit without interfering with the back of your instrument.  The hardware, carabiners and shoulder straps are top quality, and comfortable whether wearing a tank top or coat.  This case has a generous interior and comfortably fits this cello with back length 30″, upper bouts 14 3/8″, lower bouts 17 5/8″,  Total length from top of scroll to bottom edge 48 1/2″ plus  2 1/4″ for the endpin well.   Weight 13 pounds.   1 Black in stock at this price 12/26/25
