Bam’s NewTech is a strong case, having a 3-ply ABS shell with internal foam core which adds shock and thermal protection.  Broad, dense foam pads support the cello under the neck block and bottom block, which structurally are the strongest parts.   If you have rigorous travel in your future, definitely consider this case if the dimensions and contours fit your specific cello, and there are adequate clearances.  See all case specs in the photo gallery.  Latch issues may be avoided by fastening the side latch under the handle first.  If this closes easily, the lid and back are aligned and all other latches should easily engage.    BLACK, BLUE, MINT

Straps are included with every new Bam case but can be purchased and used on any case with D-rings. *Note if your height is 5’5″ or under, you may want to order the SHORT set which will allow the case to rest a bit higher on your back.   The straps are the same length, but the shoulder cushion is 3″ shorter.   Straps should be attached at the upper D ring with the flat sides touching (see diagram).

    Currently one MINT  case is in stock at the price of $1600.   The New  Tech is an extremely strong case made with a 3-ply ABS  shell and injected foam which provides both shock and some thermal protection.  Broad, thick dense suspension pads support the neck and bottom blocks — the strongest structural parts of the cello — for superior protection from vibration when wheeling this case.   The wheeling handle is integrated into the back of the scroll compartment.   Be aware cellos vary in contour and proportions, so we always confirm dimensions before shipping.  An in-shop visit is the best way to evaluate any case.   Shoulder straps are included, with comfy neoprene with secure carabiners.  All case specs are shown in in the photo gallery.

  • Vivo Carbon Fiber infused case

    Vivo Carbon Fiber infused case

    A new carbon fiber case from Vivo weighs 6.6 pounds. There are 7 latches, none locking.  There’s a scroll loop, and the neck strap closes with a clasp.  The interior provides a broad pad at the top of the back, which runs on a Velcro track.   This allows a custom fit to your cello’s length.  The bottom suspension pad curves up the sides of the lower bouts, keeping it from shifting laterally.  The interior is generous and fits a Dimbath Ruggieri cello.  This model may not accommodate the 7/8 and 4/4 Guadagnini unless you add booster padding at the bottom.   We tried  models of both, and the body length coupled with the distance from the top rib to the C peg was too short to accommodate some C pegs.  The Vivo Hybrid modes fits those cellos, just not their Carbon model.  Comfortable handles are placed at the side and shoulder, and two shoulder straps are included.  D-rings positioned closer to the neck of the case, and a single D-ring a few inches lower on the back give you options for strap attachment.  That means whether you are short or tall, you should be able to get the case to ride comfortably on your back.   No wheels on this model.  In stock in burgundy.
